Upitnik je podijeljen on line putem društvenih mreža.
Abstract (english) A diabetic condition is a condition in which the body can not regulate the level of blood glucose. There are several reasons why this is the case: it is possible that there is no insulin at all (type 1 diabetes mellitus); whether insulin is low or insulin resistance occurs (occur associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus) due to increased glucose uptake or excessive hormone-induced effects of insulin. As a consequence of pathological processes, blood glucose increases, body cells remain without the usual source of energy. The body is trying to remove excess glucose from the blood, and at the same time uses the fats and proteins that are stored in the muscles as alternate sources of energy. The consequence is hindering physiological processes, which causes some of the symptoms of diabetes such as hyperglycemia, impaired fat metabolism, proteins and carbohydrates. Since long-lasting undetected diabetes causes disorders in the functioning of the whole organism, it is important to educate the population about the prevention, symptom and eventually, the treatment of diabetes, where the nurse is extremely important. In this paper, a small sample will be used to study how much the population knows about diabetes.
The aim of this study was to examine the general population on knowledge of risk factors, symptoms and treatment of diabetes mellitus. Only 50 respondents were surveyed using this questionnaire. The questionnaire is shared online through social networks. According to the results obtained, it is evident that most people have knowledge of diabetes mellitus. The processed research data and the results we get presented in the continuation of the work.
