Abstract (english) In this final work, the concept of logistic chains will be summarized, which principles will be carried out during the course of the work and will include all the important links within the logistic chains. Of course, as the title itself says, it will be a key issue for port systems within these logistics chains. More detail will be described about the work of ports involved in logistics, their significance and how they assist in the transportation and goods transportation system, the transportation itself and the people who do it all. The purpose of the operation of ports and port systems is recognized; of which everything consists of a classic arc and the goals it has for a successful work. As our most important port, which is Rijeka because of its particular international importance, it speaks first about a history, and then follows its mission and vision as well as its strategy. Our port of Rijeka has its own terminals, eight of them with service activities. Before closer acquaintance with the port of Rijeka, the laws and acts we have in our water system will be compiled. The categories of navigation in the Croatian legal system will be described, at the end of the final work, the words about the existing status of the ports and some of the goals that should be followed and followed by some of the most important shipping ports in the world. At the very end, there is a brief conclusion on the previously written final work on the subject of port systems in the logistics chain.
