Abstract (english) Hemangiomas are the most common benign tumors in children. They are dark red with looks similar to strawberries, they come in various shapes and sizes. They can occur immediately after birth and often within the first three months after birth. Most hemangiomas disappear spontaneously over years. Hemangiomas are more common in caucasian children, female and preterm infants, especially in those whos weight is less than 1500 g. Hemangioma occurs when small blood vessels begin to multiply at an abnormal rate and form a mass or lump. Hemangiomas have a unique biological behavior, with two dynamic evolutionary stages, the proliferation and involution phase. Proliferation occurs in the first few months. The gradual spontaneous involution or regression begins around the first year of life. Often parents aren't fammiliar with hemangioma, so the prenatal role of nurse in educating parents through workshops or pregnancy courses about possible skin changes in newborns or infants is important. The role of physicians and nurses in the early detection and recognition of potentially complicated infant hemangiomas in the early months of life is important in order to initiate early treatment in the course of hemangioma proliferation. In this thesis we included nursing diagnoses and interventions related to hemangioma. Nursing diagnosis are formulated to capture the problem (P), etiology (E), and symptoms (S). The problem describes the condition of the child requiring nursing intervention. Etiology includes environmental factors, while symptoms give us information about a child that is in need of nursing intervention. The aim of this paper is to describe occurrence of hemangiomas in infants, to analyse which children are more likely to have hemangiomas and find out how dangerous it is, considering it is classified as the most common benign tumor in children. We are also looking into the importance of educating parents, as well as mentioning nursing diagnoses and interventions.
