Abstract Posao medicinskih sestara i tehničara, posebice za vrijeme pandemije COVIDa-19, izrazito je stresan i zahtjeva veliku psihičku i fizičku predanost. Zbog manjka slobodnog vremena uzrokovanog težinom i obujmom posla medicinske sestre i tehničari vrlo često zanemaruju vlastite potrebe. Najčešće prakticiraju nezdravo ponašanje kao što je tjelesna neaktivnost, nepravilna prehrana, pušenje. Zbog radnog mjesta i radnih navika medicinske sestre i tehničari imaju povećani rizik za nastanak određenih kroničnih nezaraznih bolesti poput dijabetesa, arterijske hipertenzije i bolesti srca. Također je prevalencija pretilosti češća zbog prakticiranja nepravilne prehrane.
Cilj istraživanja bio je dobiti uvid u prehrambene navike medicinskih sestara i tehničara u Županijskoj bolnici Čakovec za vrijeme pandemije COVID-19. U istraživanju je ukupno sudjelovalo 74 medicinskih sestara i tehničara koji rade u Županijskoj bolnici Čakovec. Najviše se odazvalo medicinskih sestara, njih 62 (84%), dok je medicinskih tehničara bilo 12 (16%). Trećina sudionika, njih 22 (30%) je bila u dobi od 35 do 44 godine. Prema stručnoj spremi, 45 (61%) sudionika završilo je srednju stručnu spremu.
Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da je indeks tjelesne mase medicinskih sestara manji od indeksa tjelesne mase medicinskih tehničara. Također je vidljivo da više od 70% medicinskih sestara i tehničara redovito doručkuje, bilo kod kuće ili nakon dolaska na posao. Županijska bolnica Čakovec pruža usluge toplog obroka svojim zaposlenicima koje koristi više od 80% sudionika. Ukoliko sudionici ne koriste usluge bolničke kuhinje, najčešće donose obrok koji je pripremljen kod kuće. Više od polovice sudionika ima naviku u noćnu smjenu donositi obrok koji je najčešće pripremljen kod kuće. Velika većina najčešće konzumira vodu tijekom svog radnog vremena. Sama percepcija sudionika prema vlastitim prehrambenim navikama je podijeljena između pravilnih i nepravilnih. Iako se sama težina i obujam posla svakodnevno povećavaju, medicinske sestre i tehničari moraju uložiti vrijeme u stvaranje pozitivnih navika kako bi se prevenirao nastanak posljedica koje negativno utječu na zdravlje pojedinca.
Abstract (english) Nurses job, especially during pandemic that is caused by novel coronavirus, is extremely stressful and requires exceptional physical and psychological commitment. Because of the lack of free time that is caused by difficulty and volume of the work, very often nurses neglect their own needs. They usually practice unhealthy behaviors such as physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, and smoking. Nurses workplace and work habits increase the chance of developing noncommunicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and other heart related diseases. Prevalence of obesity is more frequent because of unhealthy diet.
The aim of this study was to get access into nurses’ dietary habits in County hospital Čakovec during COVID-19 pandemic. In this study had participated 74 nurses that work in County hospital Čakovec. There was a larger response among female nurses, 62 (84%) of them while there was 12 (16%) male nurses. Third of the participants, 22 (30%) of them was in the age group between 35 and 44 years old. High school education was noted among 45 (61%) nurses.
The results of this study show that body mass index of female nurses is smaller than body mass index of male nurses. More than 70% of nurses eats breakfast regularly, while at home or when they come to work. County hospital Čakovec offers their staff a hot meal that is consumed by more than 80% of participants. If participants do not take meal from hospitals restaurant then they usually bring home cooked meal to work. More than 50% of nurses has a habit of bringing a meal to night shift which is usually also prepared at home. Water is the most consumed beverage during shift. Perception towards their own eating habits was divided between healthy and unhealthy. Even though difficulty and volume of the work are increasing every day, nurses must invest some time into creating healthy habits. Devoting can prevent occurrence of consequences that have a negative impact on one’s life.
