Abstract U Hrvatskoj je hitna medicina organizirana pod krovom Hrvatskog zavoda za hitnu medicinu.
Abstract (english) In Croatia, emergency medicine is organized under the auspices of the Croatian Institute of Emergency Medicine. There are 21 county offices throughout the state. Emergency teams in Croatia are designed in two ways: T1 and T2 teams. T1 teams consist of two medical technicians, one of whom is a driver, and the third member is a doctor of medicine. T2 teams are made up of two medical technicians. There is a specialist study of emergency medicine for doctors in Croatia, but not yet for medical technicians. In the rest of the world, emergency medicine is conceived according to two principles: Anglo-American and Franco-German. Although there is no direct evidence of which is better, each has its advantages and disadvantages. The Anglo-American principle is conceived in such a way that paramedics trained especially for that job work in the emergency services. On the other hand, specially trained technicians and doctors also participate in the Franco-German way. This paper conducted a study involving 100 respondents, employees of the Zagreb County Institute of Emergency Medicine, who expressed their opinion on the concept of work involving paramedics and satisfaction with the regulation of emergency medicine in Croatia. The research confirmed three hypotheses: There is no statistically significant difference between medical technicians and doctors in the opinion of whether a new form of work with specially trained staff is needed in emergency medicine; There is no statistically significant difference between medical technicians and doctors of satisfaction with the way of organization and the general organization of emergency medicine in Croatia; There is no statistically significant difference between medical technicians and medical doctors in the opinion whether the way in which specially trained technicians participate would solve the problem of lack of doctors in emergency services and facilitate teamwork. In Croatia, further development and progress of emergency medicine is needed, which can be seen in the answers obtained by this survey by employees. Although, as they point out, the general system of medicine in Croatia is not badly organized, there are many shortcomings, some of which are not necessarily related to the principle of work of a doctor-emergency medical technician.
