Abstract Kvalitetna prehrana i dobro zdravlje su u bliskoj povezanosti tijekom cijelog života, no ta je povezanost najizraženija u prvim godinama, jer pravilna prehrana djeteta preduvjet je za optimalan rast i razvoj, a time i formiranje zdrave odrasle osobe. Prvih šest mjeseci djetetova života majčino mlijeko u potpunosti zadovoljava nutritivne potrebe djeteta Dojenje ima pozitivan učinak za kratkoročno i dugoročno zdravlje majke i djeteta. Majčino mlijeko predstavlja idealnu prehranu za zadovoljavanje potreba za rast i razvoj djeteta.
Medicinska sestra promovira zdrav način života, skrbi o zdravstvenoj zaštiti djece, njihovoj pravilnoj prehrani, higijensko sanitarnim uvjetima i promicanju zdravog okruženja, ravnopravno sudjeluje u radu i djelovanju stručnog tima vrtića.
Oni trebaju promišljeno, odgovorno i timski surađivati i na problematici prehrane djece u vrtiću i međusobno uskladiti zadaće, metode i postupke djelovanja
Zdravstva. Mjere zdravstvene zaštite djece u dječjim vrtićima provode se u skladu s Planom i programom mjera zdravstvene zaštite, a obuhvaćaju cijepljenje protiv zaraznih bolesti,
sistematski zdravstveni pregled djeteta prije upisa u dječji vrtić.[2]
