Abstract Zdravstvo je kompleksan i brojan sustav kojim nije nimalo lako upravljati, a upravo su medicinske sestre/tehničari najmnogobrojniji članovi tog sustava.
Abstract (english) Healthcare is a complex and numerous system that is not at all easy to manage, and nurses/technicians are the most numerous members of this system. Aim of the research was to examine the connection between job satisfaction and management style in the workplace of nurses/technicians in the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The survey of job satisfaction with the management style in the workplace of nurses/technicians included 702 respondents from all over Croatia. A larger sample was used (n=702), and the survey was conducted in late July and in the first half of August 2020. Participants provided data in questionnaires that had three groups of data: sociodemographic data, job satisfaction dana and leadership satisfaction data. All questionnaires were completed online via Google applications. The sample consisted of 35 men (4,99%) and 667 women (95,01%). They were mostly between 25 and 45 years of age (65,81%). Among the participants, nurses/technicians who are bachelors of nursing (45,01%), who usually have 5-15 years of work experience (30,06%), who work in the area of Zagreb and its surroundings (36,47%) predominated. These persons are employed mainly in secondary health care (43,02%), in the position of departmental nurse/technician (49,43%) and most often in shift work with night shifts (46,44%). Multiple years of life, degree education, level and type of activity, position in the workplace and working hours have a significant impact on the satisfaction of nurses/technicians. Nurses/technicians who are satisfied with the management style of their superiors are also satisfied with the work they perform on a daily basis. Higher levels of transformational leadership style require greater job satisfaction for employed nurses/technicians. It is recommended that policy makers in the health sector provide topics to test leadership transformation style to increase employee satisfaction. Leaders with such leadership criteria and abilities should be preferably selected to guide and direct people in all branches of nursing.
