Abstract Sigurnost bolesnika ključni je element kvalitete zdravstvene skrbi, imperativ
kvalitete zdravstvene skrbi. Cilj istraživanja je ispitati percepciju medicinskih
sestara/tehničara o sigurnosti bolesnika u zdravstvenoj skrbi, procijeniti kulturu
promatranom uzorku najviše je bilo prvostupnika/prvostupnica sestrinstva
Medicinske sestre i tehničari svakodnevno su
kvalitete rada. Potrebno je podizanje svijesti o sigurnosti bolesnika, osigurati
razvoj i unaprjeđenje sustava praćenja, mjerenja i izvješćivanja kao i daljnji
razvoj istraživanja na području sigurnosti bolesnika.
Abstract (english) Patient safety is a key element of the quality of health care, it is an
imperative of every health care system and it implies the most effective
measure of the quality of health care. The aim of the research is to examine
the perception of nurses/technicians on the safety of patients in health care, to
evaluate the culture of patient safety from the perspective of
nurses/technicians and to identify and influence certain factors on the
formation of attitudes.
The survey was used for quantitative data collection purposes. The
survey was carried out during July and August 2020. 300 nurses/technicians
participated in the survey. The observed population is mostly female (93.0%),
aged between 31 and 40 years (36.0%), with work experience from 11 to 20
years (29% of them). In the observed sample, most of them were bachelors of
nursing (45.7%). The research obtained results confirming the existence of
differences in perception with regard to the level of education of participants.
It was noted that positive attitudes grow with a lower level of education. At the
same time, statistically significant differences in patient safety assessments
were found with respect to shift work, number of users and satisfaction at the
participants' workplace. Furthermore, the results indicate that there is no
statistically significant difference in patient safety assessments with regard to
the age, work experience and position of participants. Participants with
educational programmes express more positive views in the area of patient
safety.
For prosperity in the area of patient safety, it is desirable to modify the
safety culture so far. Nurses and technicians are faced with psychosocial risk
factors within their jobs on a daily basis, therefore successful synergy with the
collective makes an important component for raising the quality of work.
Awareness of patient safety should be raised, the developmend and
improvement of monitoring, measurement and reporting systems and further
development of research in the field of patient safety should be ensured.
