Abstract (english) Introduction: Stress is an everyday occurance for every person, and mostly for students. Students face major life changes brought on by the very entry into a new living environment as well as the arrival of a new kind of obligation.
Methods: A survey was conducted via the Google Forms questionnaire in the period from April 28, 2021 to June 10, 2021. The aim was to examine the frequency of occurrence of certain stressors in the student population. It also examined the extent to which individual educational courses inform students about stress itself and prevention programs.
Results: 703 students from 7 educational fields participated in the research, of which 65.4% were female students. The largest number of students (33%) say that teaching is sometimes stressful for them, and research has also shown that distance learning (Model C) is the most stressful form of teaching for 52.3% of students, and students of all backgrounds agree. Also, exam deadlines and seminars proved to be the most stressful. Namely, 39.9% of students feel stressed at least 1-2 times a week, and looking at educational fields, it was shown that biomedical and health students cope with the highest levels of stress (5 or more times a week), and they are the most informed about the very occurrence of stress and prevention programs. For students, some of the main stressors are the extent of college obligations and too little free time, and some of the first reactions to stressors are headaches, insomnia, and decreased attention and concentration. However, most students face a problem that arises and 36% of students respond that they cope well with stress. The largest number of students, 48.2%, do not use any measures to prevent stress. Students of biomedicine and health, natural and technical sciences state that they have heard about the characteristics of stress in their higher education, while other students to the greatest extent have not.
Conclusion: The results obtained by statistical data processing show that the most stressful form of teaching for students is distance learning. It is very important to acquaint students with stress prevention measures and how to deal with stressful situations. Students find it difficult to reconcile their obligations at the faculty with their private lives, and these preventive measures would help them greatly.
