Čine ga tri dimenzije: emocionalna iscrpljenost, depersonalizacija i osjećaj smanjene poslovne učinkovitosti.
Visoke razine stresa i s time povezana stanja mentalnog zdravlja mogu ugroziti dobrobit medicinskih sestara/tehničara i njihovih bolesnika. Psihološki stres povećava vjerojatnost medicinskih pogrešaka i doprinosi sagorijevanju osoblja. Kompetentni voditelji mogu smanjiti sagorijevanje medicinskih sestara osnaživanjem i promicanjem angažmana medicinskih sestara, primjenom autentičnog i transformacijskog vodstva i stvaranjem zdravog radnog okruženja.
Abstract (english) Burnout syndrome is defined as a phenomenon caused by long term stress at work that has not been managed successfully. It consists of three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and a feeling of reduced business efficiency. The literature mentions four stages of burning syndromes: honeymoon phase, reality phase, disappointment phase, alarm phase. The degree of combustion syndrome can be divided into three levels: initial stress attendance, reactive stress compensation with energy conservation and wear-out phases. Some of the specific symptoms of burnout syndrome are: negative and critical attitude towards work, strong resistance to the very thought of going to work, very low level of energy and lack of interest in work, increased irritability to actions of colleagues or patients, emotional withdrawal from colleagues or patients, fantasy about layoffs and other jobs.
Stress increases the likelihood of medical errors and contributes to the burnout of personnel. Given the tendency of the burnout syndrome to develop gradually, it is essential to recognize early signs and symptoms in time and prevent a vicious cycle of burnout syndrome. Competent managers can reduce the burning of nurses by empowering and promoting the involvement of nurses, applying authentic and transformational guidance and creating a healthy working environment.
During the preparation of graduate work, a study was carried out with the aim of examining the prevalence and level of burning syndrome among nurses/technicians working in intensive care units, and to determine whether there is a correlation between the level of education of nurses/technicians and lifestyle with the occurrence of burning syndrome. According to the results of this study in which 130 nurses/technicians employed in intensive care units participated, it can be concluded that the prevalence of moderate and high combustion syndrome is high, but can be influenced by education and implementation of healthy living habits.
