Abstract Multipla skleroza (MS) je autoimuna upalna bolest središnjeg živčanog sustava
Rezultat toga
Multipla skleroza klasificira
progresivna i sekundarno progresivna MS.
Terapija
multiple skleroze uključuje terapiju lijekovima i rehabilitaciju.
Abstract (english) Multiple sclerosis is a disease that often affects women and is most often diagnosed
between the ages of twenty and fifty. The main feature of this disease is the deterioration of the
myelin sheath, which significantly reduces the speed of impulse transmission. The result of this
can be the gradual deterioration of the entire organism. Although the specific cause of MS is not
known, there are five factors that have a direct influence on its occurrence. These are
immunological, genetic and infectious factors, environmental factors and intestinal microbiome
factors. Multiple sclerosis is classified according to the following order: clinically isolated
syndrome, relapsing-remitting, primary progressive and secondary progressive MS. Diagnostics
mostly includes magnetic resonance imaging and lumbar puncture, evoked potential test and blood
tests. Symptoms that appear as the first signs of the disease are pain, cognitive disorders, affective
disorders, motor disorders, speech disorders and swallowing, bladder/bowel disorders, and sexual
disorders. Fatigue is the biggest and most common problem in patients with this disease. Its
appearance reduces a person's already reduced abilities to perform activities of daily life. It is
important to start therapy at the earliest stage in order to prevent its progression. Treatment of
multiple sclerosis includes drug therapy and rehabilitation. Therapeutic exercise, hydrotherapy and
ultrasound according to Seltzer proved to be the best methods of physical therapy in the treatment
of people suffering from MS.
