Abstract (english) Given that work organization has a significant impact on the occurrence of burnout syndrome among healthcare professionals, as well as the impact of burnout syndrome symptoms on work organization, it is important to examine the relationship between the two. Work organization in healthcare is complex, from planning to implementation and evaluation, but with the right approach to problems and solutions, it is possible to avoid dissatisfaction caused by inadequate organization, which can lead to burnout syndrome in the long run. The aim of the research was to examine the attitudes of nurses and technicians in the Republic of Croatia in all healthcare sectors regarding work organization, working conditions, and the occurrence of burnout syndrome symptoms. The data was collected through a survey in which 151 nurses and technicians participated. According to the research results, it can be concluded that nurses and technicians in the Republic of Croatia work in the healthcare sector where their academic education (undergraduate and graduate studies) is not recognized, and individuals in managerial positions do not receive additional compensation for performing the same functions. A large number of employees work 12-hour shifts, but the ratio between working hours and rest time is not adequate for employees to rest. Additionally, there is not enough time for rest on a daily, weekly, and yearly basis. Meetings regarding work organization and improvement are not conducted in 50.3% of cases, even though most employees believe that work organization affects the occurrence of burnout syndrome. Employees believe that there is not enough staff to fulfill work obligations and tasks, and the administrative part of the job takes up too much time, which affects direct patient care. Burnout symptoms are present in employees in almost all forms, but only 11% have chosen to take sick leave due to the occurrence of these symptoms. Most participants are dissatisfied with their compensation or salary and believe that they are not adequately paid. Additionally, 61.6% of participants are considering employment outside of Croatia.
