Također treba i spomenuti
zdravu i raznoliku prehranu, adekvatnu zdravstvenu skrb, ekonomsku stabilnost i ekološki
proaktivnog starenja.
Abstract (english) Proactive aging implies a way of life that includes activities that positively affect the mental
and physical health of a person during his aging. We should also mention a healthy and diverse
diet, adequate health care, economic stability and an ecologically preserved environment.
Physical activity is an important aspect of proactive aging and should be carried out as much as
possible. Exercise is also one of the ways of proactive aging and slowing down degenerative
changes. Exercises should be designed in such a way that they increase balance, endurance,
speed and strength because these are the main abilities that decrease with aging. Aging is an
unstoppable process that causes unstoppable physical and psychological changes. Aging occurs
as a result of the interaction of several factors, namely: environmental factors, genes and
lifestyle. Exercise and physical activity are important factors in proactive aging. How much
older people engage in physical activities and exercise depends on several factors. Thus, King
and colleagues listed the factors that affect the reduced activity of older people, and these factors
are: illness, fear of injury, transportation, perceived lack of physical activity. Regular exercise
is necessary to promote long-term changes in older people. Exercise should be performed 2 to
3 times a week, for a minimum of 15 minutes, and it should be adapted to the age and health
condition of the elderly person. The general recommendation for the elderly is to engage in
physical activity for a minimum of 30 minutes. Physical activities are done at a moderate
intensity for 5 or more days a week.
