Abstract Ovaj završni rad prikazuje detaljnu hidrološko-morfološku analizu ušća rijeke Mure u Dravu, istražujući složene procese koji oblikuju ovo značajno prirodno područje.
Abstract (english) This undergraduate thesis presents a detailed hydrological-morphological analysis of the confluence of the Mura and Drava rivers, investigating the complex processes that shape this significant natural area. The mouth of the Mura into the Drava represents a valuable ecosystem with a rich biological diversity, located in a unique geographical position where two streams that pass through several countries meet before joining in the northern part of Croatia. The analysis includes an overview of key projects implemented in this area, such as the "DRAVA LIFE" project, which aims to restore natural habitats and increase biodiversity, and the "Two Rivers One Goal" project, as well as other projects, which emphasizes the conservation of natural resources and sustainable water management. The importance of cross-border cooperation for effectively protecting and managing this area is highlighted. The Mura and Drava rivers are described in detail through their hydrological characteristics, including flow, water level, and changes in flow that occur due to natural processes such as erosion and sedimentation, but also due to human interventions such as river regulation and the influence of hydropower plants. Field research conducted at the estuary provides insight into the current state of this area and how natural processes and human activities shape this space. The places where the Mura River flows into the Drava River are described, showing the dynamics of the estuary and the influence of various factors on its changes. The paper also mentions the ecological and biological characteristics of the estuary, especially emphasizing the presence of protected and invasive species. Preserving biological diversity and natural habitats is essential since these habitats are subject to risks from human interventions such as regulating watercourses and constructing hydroelectric plants. The mouth of the Mura River into the Drava River is recognized as a significant natural area that requires special attention in the context of environmental preservation.
