The theme of this paper is old croatian games and toys. The aim and purpose of this paper is the preservation of our cultural heritage based on which children realize the importance of old toys and games that come from a far past. A great importance is given to toys that were made by ones own hand. Of old they used to be wooden, plastic and stuffed, while nowadays the same toys are being made with the help of various machines. In the works of this paper the method of an interview was used, at which seven citizens were interviewed of an Istrian domain who spoke in a chakavian narrative. Using their mother tongue they have described their beloved games and toys from their childhood.A recent professional literature that interprets the term of the game and toy. Exploring the various Croatian slopes for this paper the diversity in speaking, dialect, materials and even the diversity in the names of the certain game or toy is shown. Whats also shown is the complex relations, functions and values of old games and toys, putting it all in the modern context. Todays games and toys dont provide children with much, so this is an example of why a great value is added to old toys. The interest of the craftsmanship and the way of playing are slowly becoming forgotten because of new cheap materials that fill the childrens spaces. But by encouraging educational institutions, enables the child to characteristically , in their own way, develops creativity, imagination, independence by old Croatian games and toys.
