Abstract U ovom istraživanju središnji interes bio je ispitati povezanost psihološke prilagodbe studentice na studij i njihovog zadovoljstva, odnosno nezadovoljstvo tjelesnim izgledom. Cilj istraživanja bio je steći uvid i provjeriti koliko studentice koje imaju negativan stav (nezadovoljstvo) prema vlastitom tijelu pokazuju poteškoće u prilagodbi na studij kroz (1) niže samopoštovanje, (2.) više izražene tjelesne simptome, (3.) poteškoće u socijalnoj i emocionalnoj prilagodbi na studiji , stav prema uvjetima studija i na kraju (4.) koliko je problem negativnog doživljaja tijela kao odgovor na probleme prilagodbe na studij prisutan kod svih studentica. Sudionice u ovom istraživanju bile su studentice predškolskog odgoja prve, druge i treće godine te studentice učiteljskog studija prve, druge, treće, četvrte i pete godine sveučilišta Jurja Dobrile u Puli. Dob sudionica kretala se u rasponu od 19 do 24 godina. U istraživanju su korištena tri mjerna instrumenta: upitnik općeg nezadovoljstva tjelesnim izgledom (BSQ), Rosenbergova skala samopoštovanja te skala prilagodbe studenata na studij. Prema rezultatima dobiveno je da studentice s većim nezadovoljstvom prema tijelu u odnosu na druge imaju niže samopoštovanje te veću prisutnost tjelesnih simptoma tijekom suočavanja s problemima studiranja. Studentice s većim nezadovoljstvom u odnosu na ostale studentice pokazuju specifičnu različitost u procesu prilagodbe na studij. Ta specifičnost je izražena u većoj idealizaciji samih uvjeta studiranja što je istovremeno praćeno većim poteškoćama u emocionalnoj prilagodbi na studij. Dobiveno je da se povezanost između prilagodbe na studij i doživljaja vlastitog tijela ne odnosi na cjelokupnu populaciju studentica, već na samo one koje pokazuju takve specifične aspekte osobnosti.
Abstract (english) In this research the correlation between the psychological adaptation of female students to university and their satisfaction, or dissatisfaction, with the physical appearance was examined. The aim of the study was to find out (1) in what degree female students who have a negative attitude toward their own body show difficulties in adapting to study through lower self-confidence, (2) if they show more pronounced physical symptoms, (3) difficulties in social and emotional adaptation to the study and their attitude towards the study conditions (4) the body as a response to the problems of adaptation to the study present in all students. The research participants were female students enrolled on the first, second and third year of the pre-school education study program, and female students enrolled on the first, second, third, fourth and fifth year of the primary education study program at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Juraj Dobrila University in Pula. The participants' age range was from 19 to 24 years. Three measuring instruments were used in the survey: the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ), the Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale and the Student Adaptation Scale. According to the results, students with greater body dissatisfaction compared to others have lower self-esteem, and show a greater presence of physical symptoms when coping with study problems. Female students with greater body dissatisfaction compared to other students show a specific difference in the adaptation process to the study. This specificity lies in a greater idealization of the study conditions, which is simultaneously followed by greater difficulties in the emotional adaptation to the study. The connection between the adaptation to the study and the experience of one's own body does not apply to the entire student population, but only to those who show such specific personality aspects.
