Working with children of early and pre-school age is a very complex process of education. Each educator should strive for the children to achieve the best results, which inevitably includes the knowledge and skills that the children acquire during their stay in their educational group. That is why it is very important to make ones teaching, the mode of education more interesting and varied. Although water surrounds us, we encounter water in our daily lives and is essential for life,it acquires its real significance at a time when the values and information it possesses are used for teaching and educating children. The aim of this paper is to present examples of good practice of educational activities intended for children of pre-school age on the use and protection of drinking water. Different methods are of work are presented, combined within the activities of the realized project, and these have shown that children were encouraged to participate and cooperate, to show interest and readiness to adopt new concepts, as well as new knowledge and skills.The project was conducted in a mixed group (children aged four, five, six and seven) named "Zečići", in the local section if the "Pjerina Verbanac" Labin central kindergarten located in Raša. The project was initiated in October 2017, and the last excursion was done in May 2018. Work methods are very important in education. In this paper, various incentives have been used for the best result, as well as learning in nature, and socializing and spending time in the fresh air. The aim of the project was to encourage children the possibility of logical thinking, socializing and socialization, self-confidence and learning about the importance of water throughout life. According to the reactions of the children and the results of the activities carried out, this project was realized to the satisfaction of all participants: children, their parents and the staff of the preschool facility.
