Globalization today affects almost all aspects of life (technology, education, business, commerce, entertainment, fashion) as well as our daily communication. Every day we are exposed to large amounts of information that reach us through communication technology and new media. Along with the transfer of big amounts of information, we take over the names of new terms and concepts, most of which are Anglicisms. Therefore, words of English origin have been increasingly used in other languages, including Croatian. The paper brings an overview of the most important concepts, the definition of Anglicism and the adjustment of Anglicisms at different language levels. Along with the definitions of media and new media in particular, the paper explains their features and the influence of the new media on people and the development of human communication. The paper also examines the presence and frequency of the use of Anglicisms on examples of texts in the new media, ie on an internet site offering informative and entertaining content. It has been established that frequent use of Anglicisms, ie loanwords and English words or phrases depends on the content of the texts of a particular site and the intended users.
