Abstract (english) Serious games are combination of games, education and technology. In companies they have significant importance in education, employee training and various other business processes.
Except serious games, companies can use some of game elements what is named gamification. Serious game must have a characterizing goal that a player must achieve. In the designing process of these games, it is important that Designers cooperate with engineers and area experts, to make a good narrative and put into game some rewards and challenges so that the players stay focused and motivated on game to achieve the goal.
Games like this effect on players in a way that the game adjust challenges to player’s ability, so the player is all time in a state between of boredom and frustration what is explained through the Flow theory, in this way player stays motivated through the game. Through game, players are getting some experience which helps them to solve the next challenges in game and in that way they are learning.
In business, serious games are used to train employees to improve their knowledge on a New, fun and more effective way than traditional learning. Except for trainings, they are also used for recruitment purposes. Some companies are designing a game to use them for multiple purposes to reduce costs. However, the most common and visible way of using serious games or their elements is in marketing, through them companies are getting information about their product and they promote their own products.
