Camping tourism is a special form of tourism whose attractiveness is based on spending time in nature and in essence represents a unique opportunity to break away from normal routines. Topic of this thesis is „Camping tourism in Republic of Croatia“ with a personal review of Fratarski Island as an example of a unique camping destination in Croatia. Theoretical explanation of basic tourism determinants and selective forms of tourism lay the foundations for understanding camping as a selective form of tourism. The paper tries to highlight the importance of camping tourism as a part of Croatia's tourism offerings through the historical development and analysis of the current camping offer on the Croatian tourist market in order to highlight its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Through the analysis of the business activities of the Camp Fratarski Island, it is determined its positioning potential as a unique camping destination whose strength lies in untouched nature and the Robinson concept of camping in the true sense of the word.
