Abstract Tema rada je odabrana obilježja tržišta rada Republike Hrvatske.
Abstract (english) The topic of this final work is selected features of the labour market in the Republic of Croatia. The Croatian labour market faces a multitude of problems and is marked with high unemployment rates, low rates of economic activity of the population, high structural mismatch between supply and demand for work, the lack of conformity of the education system with the labour market and long-term unemployment. Since the labour market plays a significant role in economic growth and development, the economy and the very functioning of the state, these are problems to which the state must pay particular attention and develop strategies and plans, reforms to improve the characteristics of the labour market. Two features stressed in this work are women and young people in the labour market, their position, and opportunities versus the possibilities of men and older people in the same position. The Croatian labour market was affected by a major economic crisis of 2008. from which it has been recovering for many years. In 2018. and 2019. unemployment rates have decreased the labour market has been slowly recovering, but today it is facing a new crisis caused by pandemics. The Croatian labour market today faces new challenges, big companies are closing, people are losing jobs and they cannot find jobs easily, because no new jobs are being created, there is no coherence between supply and demand. The recovery of the economy and labour market depends largely on labour mobility and measures to help the economy, but the recovery is assumed to be a long-term and difficult process.
