Peto poglavlje sadrži kratku evaluaciju aplikacija i online alata spomenutih u trećem i četvrtom poglavlju.
Abstract (english) Multimedia as such, represents a wide range of concepts, but in this paper I will be presenting some of the online tools such as online dictionaries and apps available for iOS and Android devices which are focusing on Japanese language learning. As Japanese language consists of three tipes of letters- hiragana, katakana and kanji, in this paper I will be dealing with the apps that are helping in the aquistition of all three letters as well as tools that help in the aquisition of the Japanese language as a whole. Modern times require new, modern methods of learning, not only to make learning easier but also to make it more fun and thus more appealing to younger generations and those less motivated. Learning via smartphones opens up the possibility of accessing information anywhere and anytime. This way each student can individually determine their own pace of learning and control the amount of new informations as it suits his wishes. The availability of the Internet , in the addition to the above mentioned, also allows acces to a variety of resources such as books, dictionaries, learning literature and multimedia resources but also the ability to communicate with native speakers. The main goal of this paper is to show all of the advantages that using multimedia in independent learning of Japanese language has to offer, while the question that the paper will try to answer by analyzing the relevant literature is „To which extent are mobile apps and online tools facilitating independant learning of Japanese language?“. Furthermore, with a short survey conducted among students of Japanology in Pula and my own knowledge and experience gained so far, I will answer the questions about the extent to which students use available resources and show their self-assessment of the usefulness of available tools and apps in learning and acquiring of the Japanese language. The paper is divided into nine chapters. First chapter deals with the concept of mobile learning while the second chapter deals with multimedia in general and learning through multimedia. Third chapter focuses on mobile apps for learning Japanese while fourth chapter deals with the online tools that facilitate independent learning of Japanese language. The fifth chapter contains short evaluation of mobile apps and online sources mentioned in third and fourth chapter. Sixth chapter covers the advantages and possible disadvantages of learning this way, while the seventh chapter includes an analysis of the responses given in the survey by students.
