Abstract Pod pojmom COVID-19 podrazumijevamo akutnu respiratornu bolest uzrokovanu SARS-CoV-2 virusom koji ima visoku stopu infektivnosti. Higijena ruku, površina, fizička distanca i korištenje maski, predstavljaju optimalan način sprječavanja prijenosa bolesti.
Abstract (english) Under the term COVID-19 we mean acute respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus with a high infectivity rate. Hand hygiene, surfaces, physical distance and use of masks are the optimal way of preventing the coronary disease. People infected with SARS-CoV-2 may develop different symptoms and may lead to death in more severe cases, but patients may also be asymptomatic. In order to rapidly spread the disease, there is a need for quick and reliable diagnostics. The primary diagnostic methods for COVID-19 are RT-qPCR (Rever-know transcriptase of qu-antitative chain reactions of transcriptase) and BAT (rapid antigen test) tests. RT-qPCR tests are performed in health facilities equipped with automated equipment and are very reliable. BAT tests are tested on the spot, they are very simple for use, suitable and reliable for quick detection of infection and thus more efficient control of pandemic, and they have comparable accuracy and sensibility compa-red to RT-qPCR tests. The aim of this study was to collect and analyse floor data on subjects who were tested for COVID - 19 disease, and to compare subjects who were tested for BAT and RT-qPCR Tes-th of the same samples in the popula-tion. We used the presented data from the Pula General hospital according to the approval of the ethical nation In the period from 11.12.20. to 05.02.2021., 298 pa-tients were tested with a BAT test, but for safety reasons, 141 of them were done and a RT-qPCR test. By comparing both tests, we conclude that the BAT test was most frequently crushed because of simple and faster diagnostics, and the PCR method when it was clearly indicated and the BAT test was negative.
