Abstract Morio Asaka je priču pod nazivom Nana, prema istoimenoj mangi autorice Ai Yazawe, adaptirao u obliku animiranog filma ili anime 2006. godine. Na sasvim solidan i pomalo realan način uspio je prikazati neuredno prijelazno razdoblje života dvadesetogodišnjaka te ga je ispričao koristeći se perspektivom žene. Zbog svoje utemeljene drame koja je usmjerena na odraslu publiku i sadržaja koji se odnosi na djevojke u razvoju, Nana spada pod vrstu po nazivu josei. Radnja se odvija prateći život dvije u potpunosti drugačije djevojke koje spletom okolnosti u trenutku upoznavanja saznaju da imaju isto godina, odlaze u Tokio kako bi ostvarile svoje životne ciljeve te se nekim čudom obje zovu Nana.
Cilj rada je predstaviti dvije glavne ženske uloge te ih usporediti sa tradicionalnim karakteristikama i modernim vrijednostima žena koje su se postepeno kreirale kroz dugu povijest Japana. Utjecaj na razvoj žena i njihovog društvenog položaja imale su brojne društvene, političke i ekonomske promjene koje se odvijaju u razdoblju od prapovijesti sve do razdoblja modernizacije nakon Drugog svjetskog rata. U tom kontekstu, obje djevojke u animiranom filmu prikazuju određene kvalitete japanskih žena.
Nana Komatsu je vrckasta, naivna i bezbrižna djevojka koja je očarana pojmom ljubavi. Njezin je život ispunjen konstantnim traganjima romantičnih veza te se izlaže brojnim nezdravim odnosima s muškarcima. Sa druge strane, Nana Osaki predstavlja malo mračniju, staloženiju i ozbiljniju ulogu te se umjesto na ljubav fokusira na izgradnju vlastite karijere. Dok jedna očekuje da će joj odnos s muškarcem spasiti život, druga sanja o tome da će jednoga dana dokazati da o njemu više ne ovisi i da sve može ostvariti vlastitim sposobnostima. Nana Komatsu predstavlja tradicionalnu stranu koja se portretira prikazom začaranog kruga ovisničkog, patrijarhalnog odnosa. Dok je Nana Osaki savršeni prikaz moderne žene koja teži neovisnosti i uspješnosti u vlastitoj karijeri.
Abstract (english) Morio Asaka adapted the story called Nana, based on the manga that shares the same name and is written by Ai Yazawa, in form of an animated film or anime in 2006. In a very solid and somewhat realistic way, he managed to portray the messy transitional period of the twenty-year-old's life and narrated it using a woman's perspective. Because of its grounded drama aimed at adult audiences and content related to the development of young women, Nana falls under a category called josei. The plot takes place following the lives of two completely different girls who, due to a combination of circumstances, find out that they are the same age, are going to Tokyo to achieve their life goals, and by some miracle, they are both called Nana.
The aim of the paper is to present the two main female roles and compare them with the traditional characteristics and modern values of women that have been gradually created through the long history of Japan. Numerous social, political and economic changes that took place in the period from prehistory to the period of modernization after the Second World War, had an impact on the development of women and their social position. In this context, both girls in the animated film portray certain qualities of Japanese women.
Nana Komatsu is a witty, naive and carefree girl who is enchanted by the concept of love. Her life is filled with constant searches for romantic relationships and she is exposed to numerous unhealthy relationships with men. On the other hand, Nana Osaki plays a slightly darker, more calm and serious role and instead of loving, she focuses on building her own career. While one expects that a relationship with a man will save her life, the other dreams that one day she will prove that she no longer depends on him and that she can achieve everything with her own abilities. Nana Komatsu represents the traditional side portrayed by depicting the vicious circle of an addictive, patriarchal relationship. While Nana Osaki is the perfect depiction of a modern woman striving for independence and success in her own career.
