Abstract (english) In today's world, many parents ignore the child's biological need for movement and play, thus children are deprived of sensorimotor stimulation, which has a very unfavorable effect on the child's further development. Playing sports in preschool children has a positive effect on the reduction of obesity, promotes the development and preservation of healthy bones, joints and muscles. Children who engage in physical activity have better functional abilities, lower levels of fat in the blood and greater cardiorespiratory abilities. Physical activity also has a positive effect on motor skills, and this mostly refers to strength, coordination, balance, precision and flexibility. Playing sports promotes a positive relationship between the activity and the cognitive functioning of preschool children. Motor abilities, motor knowledge and cognitive abilities complement each other and there is a positive correlation between them. Playing sports regularly can help build young minds by requiring creative and strategic thinking, as well as increased focus and attention. Sports contribute greatly to overall success in life as they provide physical, mental and emotional benefits while teaching children valuable life skills. The development of positive habits and character traits through hard work and perseverance lays children a strong foundation for later success in life.
