Abstract U suvremenom svijetu odgojitelj je stručna, obrazovana i kvalificirana osoba koja u radu s djecom primjenjuje sva znanja i vještine stečene tijekom formalnog obrazovanja te koja zahvaljujući metodama profesionalnog usavršavanja i napredovanja dodatno gradi svoje znanje te, osim djeci, isto prenosi i kolegama i suradnicima.Glavni cilj istraživanja je analiza mišljenja i stavova odgojitelja o području i važnosti profesionalnog razvoja i unaprjeđenja u suvremenoj odgojiteljskoj praksi. Postupak ispitivanja znanja i stavova odgojitelja provodilo se putem online upitnika u obliku Google Forms obrasca. Za numeričke varijable izračunat je osnovni deskriptivni statistički pokazatelji, uključujući mjere centralne tendencije (aritmetička sredina, mod, medijan) i mjere raspršenosti (standardna devijacija i raspon). Za kategorijske varijable izrađena je distribucija, koja će se prikazati tablično i grafički pomoću apsolutnih i relativnih frekvencija. Većina ispitanika nije izabrana u više zvanje tijekom svog radnog vijeka, a od onih koji jesu, najviše njih su postali odgojitelji mentori. Najviše odgojitelja prisustvovanjem stručnom usavršavanju unutar predškolske ustanove, rijetko sudjeluje u aktivnostima profesionalnog razvoja, od 3 do 5 puta sudjeluje na stručnim usavršavanjima tijekom prethodne pedagoške godine te ih pokreće unutarnja (osobna) motivacija za sudjelovanje u aktivnostima profesionalnog razvoja Odgojitelji shvaćaju važnost profesionalnog razvoja i unaprjeđenja suvremene odgojiteljske prakse, neovisno o duljini radnog staža ili mjestu stanovanja. Profesionalni razvoj i usavršavanje više prepoznato kod onih odgojitelja koji su svoje obrazovanje gradili na sveučilišnim u odnosu na stručne studije. Također, oni odgojitelji koji češće sudjeluju u aktivnostima profesionalnog razvoja te pohađaju stručna usavršavanja smatraju kako je isto važno za njihov daljnji razvoj i napredak u području.
Abstract (english) In the modern world, a teacher is an expert, educated and qualified person who applies all the knowledge and skills acquired during formal education in working with children and who, thanks to the methods of professional training and advancement, additionally builds his knowledge and, in addition to children, passes the same to colleagues and colleagues. The main aim of the research is the analysis of teachers' opinions and attitudes about the area and the importance of professional development and improvement in modern educational practice. The process of examining the knowledge and attitudes of educators was carried out through an online questionnaire in the form of a Google Forms form. Basic descriptive statistical indicators were calculated for numerical variables, including measures of central tendency (arithmetic mean, mode, median) and dispersion measures (standard deviation and range). A distribution was made for categorical variables, which will be presented tabularly and graphically using absolute and relative frequencies. Most respondents were not elected to a higher position during their working life, and of those who were, most of them became teacher educators and mentors. The majority of educators attend professional development within the preschool institution, rarely participate in professional development activities, from 3 to 5 times participate in professional development during the previous pedagogical year and are driven by internal (personal) motivation to participate in professional development activities Educators understand the importance of professional development and improvement of modern educational practice, regardless of length of service or place of residence. Professional development and improvement is more recognized among those educators who built their education at university compared to professional studies. Also, those educators who more often participate in professional development activities and attend professional training, believe that the same is important for their further development and progress in the field.
