The term logistics is used for activities of organization and coordination of the physical flow of materials and the flow of information between suppliers, manufacturers, traders and end consumers of products. Basically, it is a system that connects all participants and raw materials that are necessary for the creation of the final product. Logistics and logistics systems differ from company to company. Companies that have a more complex supply chain must also have more complex logistics systems. Logistics not only coordinates the supply chain process, but also the storage of materials, semi-finished products and finished products. It therefore overcomes spatial and temporal changes, so it is essentially a service. In companies, it does not act as a basic function, but as a connecting activity of all other functions in the company and enables their connection and optimization, if the company has a well-built logistics system. Logistics plays a key role in the competitiveness of companies. With good logistics in the company, we can gain greater competitive advantages and greatly reduce business costs, and in addition, a good logistics system ensures less environmental pollution. Its main function is economic - reducing costs as follows: the right material, at the right time, in the right quantity, of the right quality, in the right place at the lowest possible cost. Its importance has greatly increased with the development of technology, which has enabled new, more demanding improvements in logistics systems. It is imperative that companies incorporate smart technology solutions into their supply chains to reduce costs and business risks. However, through empirical research, we noticed that many companies are not familiar with all the possibilities of technology and do not include them in their operations.
