This final thesis explores the application of corrosion inhibitors in the military industry, with a particular emphasis on the protection of military equipment and weapons. The introductory part of the thesis describes the basic mechanisms of corrosion formation, including a detailed presentation of electrochemical corrosion and various types of aggressive media that contribute to this process. The central part of the thesis is dedicated to methods of corrosion protection through the application of inhibitors. Special attention is given to VpCI (Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor) films and papers, which are effective in creating a protective barrier against corrosive elements. Additionally, procedures for the conservation of weapons involving the use of various corrosion inhibitors are described to extend the operational capability and lifespan of military equipment. The thesis highlights the crucial role of corrosion inhibitors in the military industry, contributing to the understanding of the importance of applying advanced protective measures in preserving the operational capability and safety of military assets.
