This paper presents the automation and utilization of CNC machining centers served by robots. The needs of the industry, along with increasingly complex demands for the accuracy and quality of modern products, have led to the development of computer-controlled machines for material processing. The beginnings of mechanical engineering and processing relied on human power, which has been gradually replaced by technological advancements. Nowadays, the human factor in the process has been reduced to a minimum to enhance and speed up the process and improve the quality of the final product. To this end, computer-controlled, automated machining machines supported by robotic elements have been introduced to achieve complete automation of the technological process. The first part of the paper discusses CNC machining centers and their components, which enable precise, fast, and safe operation. The second part of the paper covers the robotic elements and systems that, together with CNC devices, form an integrated modern industrial plant. It describes the methods of controlling and programming robots and provides an example of the technological procedure of an automated machining center.
