Abstract (english) Need to be accepted from others and avoid rejection is widely recognized as one of the basic human motives. If individual perceives rejection, his reactions will generally tend to be negative, but there are some individual differences in tendency to perceive and react to rejection. Some people interpret unpleasant interpersonal situations benignly, while others even in situations of small or imagined oversights of significant others perceive intentional rejection and overreact. Such behavior is facilitated by tendency to anxiously expect, easily perceive rejection and overreact which all indicates the presence of rejection sensitivity. Previous studies have indicated that intense worry over possible rejection is implicated in some maladaptive relational patterns, but relationship between rejection sensitivity and some indicators of interpersonal functioning is still not known. Accordingly, the goal of this research was to determine relationship between rejection sensitivity and sensitivity to put-down, fear of negative evaluation, social avoidance and self-disclosure. 167 university students participated in research (78% females and 22% males), and data were collected via online versions of questionnaires. Results revealed that rejection sensitivity is positively correlated with dimensions of sensitivity to put-down, that is with higher levels of anxiety, anger, blaming self and others. Within sensitivity to put-down there was also significant and high positive correlation between tendency to feel anxious and blame self, and tendency to feel angry and blame others. Furthermore, there was significant and high positive correlation between rejection sensitivity and fear of negative evaluation, and between rejection sensitivity and social avoidance. Regarding self-disclosure, there was significant and moderate negative correlation between rejection sensitivity and amount of self-diclosure, and between rejection sensitivity and positivity of disclosed content. Also, there were no differences in level of rejection sensitivity considering gender, place of study, relationship status and study program.
