Abstract (english) The process of education is very complex and consists of different components. In order to successfully achieve the goals of this process, great emphasis is put on the teacher and his teaching and other abilities. Teachers are presented with various challenges and expectations, but it's easy to forget the impact the teachers behavior and his personality can have on students. Although it is difficult to say specifically which teacher qualities have the greatest impact on the students, the aim of this study was to see which characteristics students believe make a quality teacher. The task was to see which features students love most about their teachers, whether physical appearance and gender play a role and how much of their success in education depends on the teacher. The results show that students prefer a moderately strict teacher with a sense of humor, who knows how to give a lecture in a fun and different way, knows how to communicate and establish a good relationship with the students, respects them, is fair, encourages and helps them. The physical appearance and gender do not play a significant role in the perception of the quality of teachers, and success is not only attributed to the teacher but is rather a joint effort. It should be noted that the characteristics and their perceptions are relative categories that may change over time, and since the number of asked students was small, the results of a research with a bigger number of students could be different.
