U istraživačkom dijelu rada odabrano je i predstavljeno pet inozemnih i pet hrvatskih primjera dobre prakse promicanja važnosti knjige i čitanja u okvirima kreativne industrije.
Abstract (english) Creative industry refers to activities generated from creativity, skills and talents of an individual and it is recognized as the world economy driver and the foundation of sustainable development. In Croatia it is divided in 12 sub-sectors, among which is publishing. Publisher has an irreplaceable role in creating reading culture and cultural heritage conservation. However, among all creative industry sectors in Croatia, publishing stands the worst. Thus bringing the national book policy and measures which will stop further breakdown of this sector is essential. In the research part of this paper, it was chosen and presented five foreign and five Croatian examples of best practices in promoting the importance of book and reading in the frame of creative industry. Described foreign examples are: The Bible, Get Caught Reading campaign, International Children’s Digital Library, International Book Fair in Frankfurt and the city of Melbourne as UNESCO’s City of Literature, and Croation examples are: Roč–Hum Alley of glagolitic, Booksa club, Read to me! campaign, Book Fair(y) in Istria and Knjižni blok association. Mentioned examples give evidence of the importance of book and reading and are good foundation for further acting in the area of creative book, reading and literacy promoting. While carrying the research out, the great attendance and participating in Croatian cultural and literacy manifestations was noted, so it can easily be concluded that there should be more manifestations like those ones.
