Abstract (english) The transition from preschool to primary school is one of the fundamental questions of understanding of the role of educational institutions in the childhood of children. Education takes place in cooperation of schools and other institutions such as museums, libraries, centers for sport, and the goal of moving education outside the school premises is better cooperation and joint action in terms of education students with the participation of the whole community, and student and individual approach to the student becoming increasingly important. This paper explores how museums enable easier transition for the transition of children from preschool to primary school. The survey was conducted by semi-structured interviews with the Educator of the National Museum Zadar, 5 teachers of primary schools. 15 educators, 28 students of the first grade of primary and 115 pre-school children. The research showed that the majority of children of preschool and school children visited the museum and have only positive experiences, a museum are usually visited by educators or teachers. The largest number of children of preschool and school-age children said they participate in educational workshops, as well as teachers and educators who involve children in workshops. This takes place in cooperation with the museum pedagogical service that determines the topics of educational workshops, and they represent a link between the work of the museum and its visitors. However, based on interviews with museum educators concluded that the still growing number of pre-school children visiting museums, as opposed to school-age children attending first grade. This is precisely the problem to which the educational system needs to work to the museum was a factor of continuity in the transition from kindergarten to school. Educators and teachers believe that the visit to the museum in the preschool age is very important for the child because that way children gain experience, learn about the cultural property, adopted cultural patterns of behavior that will later take in life. Most teachers considered to visit the museum in the preschool provides good preparation for the school because all the knowledge and experience that are met during the visit to the museum can connect with new subjects or teaching units, thanks to educational workshops children develop independence, creativity and imagination.
