Abstract Učitelj je nositelj promjena u obrazovanja. Kako bi se uspješno nosio sa zahtjevima u obrazovanju, učitelj mora biti kompetentan. Kompetencije učitelja mogu se definirati kao stručnost koju priznaju sudionici odgojno-obrazovnog procesa (učenici i roditelji), temeljena na znanjima, sposobnostima i vrijednostima. Samo učitelj koji je kompetentan te se usavršava, u mogućnosti je učenika učiniti osposobljenim i samosvjesnim članom zajednice. U ovom diplomskom radu učiteljske kompetencije mjerene su standardiziranom Skalom kompetencija učitelja autora Lončarića i Majić (2015). Kompetencije učitelja u navedenoj skali dijele se na: „a) Stručna znanja i interpersonalne vještine; b) Temeljna znanja i vještine; c) Istraživanje i stvaranje novih znanja; d) Profesionalne vrijednosti i posvećenost radu; e) Odgojne vrijednosti, kreativnost/stvaralaštvo“. Istraživanje je obuhvatilo je 83 učitelja razredne nastave u Ličko-senjskoj županiji. Osim kompetencija učitelja, ispitani su i socio-demografski podatci učitelja poput spola, dobi, radnog staža, obrazovne ustanove, završenog studija, statusa u struci, veličine mjesta i broja učenika. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju statistički značajnu povezanost između svih kompetencija učitelja. Korelacijska analiza pokazuje statistički značajnu negativnu povezanost između statusa u struci i broja učenika u razredu. Kompetencija Organizacija, vođenje i samovrednovanje negativno je statistički značajno povezana sa statusom u struci. Kompetencija Zdravlje, prirodoslovlje i održivi razvoj je statistički značajno negativno povezana sa statusom u struci te s brojem učenika u razredu.
Abstract (english) A teacher is a carrier of changes in education. To be able to handle educational demands, a teacher must be competent. Teachers' competences can be defined as an expertise which is acknowledged by participants of educational process (pupils and parents), based on knowledges, abilities and values. Only the teacher who is competent, and has continuing education, is able to make a pupil a capable and conscious member of community. In this master's thesis, teachers' competences have been measured by standardized Teachers' competences scale, by Lončarić and Majić (2015). In the scale mentioned, teachers' competences are distinguished as: a) Specialized expertise and interpersonal skills; b) Basic knowledges and skills; c) Reasearch and creating of new knowledges; d) Professional values and work commitment; e) Educational values, creativity/production. A research which was conducted within this thesis, has included 83 lower grades teachers in Ličko – senjska county. Besides teachers' competences, a socio-demografic data – like: sex, age, working records, educational institution, studies completed, a professional status, a size of locality and a number of pupils, have been examined. Research results show statistically significant connection between all of the teachers' competences. A correlation analasys shows statistically significant negative connection between professional status and the number of students in a class. An Organisation, leading and self-evaluation competence is statistically significant negatively connected with a professional status. A Health, natural history and sustainable development competence is statistically significant negatively connected with a professional status and the number of students in a class.
