Abstract
El marco teórico de este trabajo presenta los problemas principales en traducción de prosa literaria, principalmente las cuestiones de la posibilidad de recreación de una obra literaria en otra lengua. Se analizan las etapas del proceso de traducción literaria y el deber ético del traductor entre la fidelidad al autor original y las expectativas de los lectores meta. A continuación, se proponen como problemas principales las dificultades en la recreación del efecto del texto, las marcas estilísticas y la voz narrativa, además de la reconciliación de dos sistemas lingüísticos y dos contextos culturales. Finalmente, el marco teórico fue aplicado a la traducción de una sección de la novela Nanga de Willy Uribe.
Abstract (croatian)
Ovaj diplomski rad donosi pregled teorijskog okvira za analizu primarnih problema vezanih uz prevođenje proznih djela, pitanja mogućnosti rekreacije književnih tekstova u kontekstu novog jezika. Nadalje, analiziraju se etape procesa prevođenja i etičke odgovornosti prevoditelja prema književnom autoru i publici koja će čitati prijevod. Problemi predloženi kao primarni u ovom radu su rekonstrukcija efekta, stilskih značajki i naratorovog glasa, te problemi premošćivanja razlika između dva jezična sustava i kulturoloških sredina. Konačno, teorijski okvir primijenjen je na prijevod dijela romana Nanga Willyja Uribe.
Abstract (english)
This thesis provides a theoretical framework for the analysis of the primary problems of translation of literary prose centred in the possibility of recreating a literary text in a different language. The stages of the translation process, as well as the ethical responsibility of the translator towards the original author and the target language readers will be analysed. The problems proposed as the primary issues in literary translation are the recreation of the effect, style markers and the narrative voice in the novel, aside from the issues related to the reconciliation of two linguistic systems and cultural contexts. Finally, the theoretical framework was applied to the translation of a section of the novel Nanga written by Willy Uribe.
