Abstract Osobine ličnosti definiramo kao formalne i uobičajne načine percepcije, ponašanja i mišljenja. To su stabilne individualne razlike koje oblikuju pojedinčeve specifične oblike kognicije, emocija i ponašanja. Osobine ličnosti čest su predmet psihologijskih istraživanja i dovode se u vezu s raznim konstruktima. U ovom istraživanju jedan od konstrukata koji se ispitivao je i prokrastinacija. Prokrastinaciju ili odlaganje definiramo kao maladaptivnu ili disfunkcionalnu strategiju koja se koristi u pokušaju nošenja s konfliktom ili izborom. Prokrastinacija ima utjecaja na razne sfere ljudskog života – od obrazovanja, društvenog života, karijere pa čak i do zdravlja. Zbog svojih implikacija, sve je češći predment istraživanja. Akademsko postignuće također se često ispituje u odnosu s drugim varijablama, pa tako i prokrastinacijom. Stoga je cilj ovog istraživanja bio ispitati u kakvom su odnosu osobine ličnosti (poštenje-skromnost, emocionalnost, ekstraverzija, ugodnost, savjesnost, otvorenost ka iskustvu) i prokrastinacija te kakav je odnos prokrastinacije i akademskog postignuća. Istraživanje je provedeno putem online upitnika koji je proslijeđen na društvenim mrežama. Od mjernih instrumenata su korišteni HEXACO-PI-R upitnik ličnosti te Tuckmanova skala prokrastinacije. Uz to, od ispitanika je prikupljena i informacija o prosjeku ocjena na studiju. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo ukupno 137 ispitanika. Rezultati su utvrdili da postoji negativna povezanost između prokrastinacije i poštenja-skromnost, ekstraverzije i savjesnosti, te pozitivna povezanost prokrastinacije i emocionalnosti, ugodnosti i otvorenosti ka iskustvu. Također je utvrđena i negativna povezanost prokrastinacije i akademskog postinuća.
Abstract (english) Personality traits are defined as formal and common modes of perception, behavior and thinking. These are stable individual differences that shape an individual's specific forms of cognition, emotion, and behavior. Personality traits and their relations with various constructs are frequent subject of psychological research. One such construct is procrastination. Procrastination is defined as a maladaptive or dysfunctional strategy that people use when coping with a conflict or a choice. Procrastination has implications for various domains of human life - from education, social life, career and even health. Because of these implications, there has been more and more research on procrastination. Academic achievement is also often examined in relation to other variables, including procrastination. The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between personality traits (honestymodesty, emotionality, extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness to experience) and procrastination and relationship between procrastination and academic achievement. The data was gathered through an online questionnaire, which was forwarded to social networks. The HEXACO-PI-R personality questionnaire and the Tuckman procrastination scale were used as measurement instruments. In addition, information on participants’ average grade at university was also collected. There were 137 participants in the study. The results showed that there is a negative correlation between procrastination and honesty-modesty, extraversion and conscientiousness, and a positive correlation between procrastination and emotionality, comfort and openness to experience. A negative correlation between procrastination and academic achievement was also found.
