Abstract Roditelji i odgojitelji imaju isti zadatak – odgojiti dijete. Za roditelje je to roditeljska dužnost, a za odgojitelje profesionalna. Kada dijete poraste i krene ga se intenzivno pripremati za polazak u školu, roditelji i odgojitelji ponovno imaju isti cilj – pomoći djetetu da razvije svoj puni potencijal. Roditelji i odgojitelji preuzimaju na sebe odgovornost za pripremu djeteta za osnovnu školu te za rezultate koje će pokazati na samom početku. Time se obvezuju na informiranost, educiranost i prije svega na suradnju. Suradnja između roditelja i odgojitelja je ono što najviše od svega može unaprijediti ili unazaditi djetetov razvoj. Uz komunikaciju, razumijevanje i prihvaćanje između roditelja i odgojitelja dijete može jako puno dobiti, dok u nedostatku istih može i jako puno izgubiti. Za potrebe diplomskog rada provedeno je istraživanje s roditeljima djece koja pohađaju privatni dječji vrtić te državne dječje vrtiće od kojih je jedan za djecu s poteškoćama u razvoju kako bi se ispitala suradnja između roditelja i odgojitelja kod pripreme djece za prvi razred osnovne škole. Istraživali su se stavovi roditelja o važnosti suradnje, njihovoj komunikaciji s odgojiteljima, spremnosti na uključivanje u vrtićke aktivnosti i suradnički odnos te zadovoljstvu radom odgojitelja i dječjeg vrtića. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju kako roditelji shvaćaju važnost suradnje i smatraju da imaju dobru komunikaciju s odgojiteljima. Većina je zadovoljna njihovim radom te radom vrtića i voljni su uključiti se u vrtićke aktivnosti. Iako se gotovo svi roditelji slažu s time da bez dobre komunikacije i poštovanja ne može biti niti kvalitetne suradnje, većina smatra da iako i roditelji i odgojitelji imaju pravo glasa u odgoju i obrazovanju djeteta, ipak zadnju riječ trebaju imati roditelji.
Abstract (english) Parents and educators have one common goal - bring up a child. For parents it is their parental duty, for educators it is a professional matter. As soon as the child is grown and being intensively prepared for school, parents and educators once again strive to the same goal - help the child develop its full potential. Parents and educators take onto themselves the responsibility to prepare the child for primary school and the immediate results visible at the beginning of the child’s education. Therefore, they need to commit themselves to being informed, educated and willing to cooperate. The cooperation between parents and educators is crucial in either improve or regress a child’s development. If communication, understanding and tolerance is present in the relationship between the two parties, the child can gain an advantage, while with the absence of these elements it can lose the same. For the purpose of this graduate thesis, a study was conducted with parents whose children attend private and public preschools, as well as a preschool for children with developmental difficulties, so that the amount of cooperation between parents and educators when preparing a child for the first grade of primary school could be investigated. The study was related to parents’ opinions about the importance of cooperation, their communication with the educators, their willingness to participate in organized preschool activities and cooperate with educators, and their level of satisfaction with the work of educators and preschool in general. The results of the study show that parents understand the importance of cooperation and feel that they communicate well with the educators. The majority of parents are satisfied with the educators and the preschool’s work, and are willing to be included in activities organized by the preschool. Although almost all parents agree that quality cooperation is impossible without good communication and mutual respect, the majority concludes that even though educators have a say in the upbringing and education of a child, parents should always have the last word.
