Abstract (english) This bachelor thesis examines archeological sites from the Middle Ages, in the present-day city of Zagreb. Excavations of the archaeological sites dated to the Middle Ages are very few, so we also use various historical works to study this topic. Of the sites examined in this thesis Cemeteries in Kruge, Kaptol - Bakač tower, Stenjevec and the remains of the settlement on Opatovina have been dated to the early Middle Ages. In the High Middle Ages, Kaptol and Gradec became the center of public life, but due to the dense population and important public character, the archaeological investigations carried out at Gradec and Kaptol today have been smaller and mostly preventive in character. The cemetery in the area around the church of Sv. St. Mark's, cemetery in Grič Park, the monastery of Clarisses, which today serves as the building of the Museum of the City of Zagreb, the Zagreb Cathedral, the cemetery at Opatovina and the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Remete have been excavated and dated to the High and Late Middle Ages. The city of Zagreb began to form and develop in the Middle Ages, after the founding of the diocese of Kaptol and the formation of Gradec, however, very few archaeological excavations were carried out in Zagreb of this period, most of which were churches and cemeteries.
