Abstract Razvoj turističkih agencija nije se odvijao jednakim intenzitetom u cijelom svijetu. Neke države kasnije su dočekale pojavu i razvoj turističkih agencija nego druge, ali trenutno gotovo sve države imaju razvijene mreže turističkih agencija. Sve agencije ne obavljaju iste poslove, ali većina njih posluje po istom principu. Poslovanje agencija svodi se na nekoliko bitnih faktora, a jedan od najbitnijih je radna, tj. ljudski kadrovi. Turistička agencija bez ljudskih faktora, kao i većina poslovnih subjekata, ne bi mogla poslovati. Oni stupaju u izravan kontakt s klijentima pa prema tome moraju biti kvalitetno obučeni za radno mjesto. Prije samog osnivanja turističke agencije moraju biti zadovoljeni određeni preduvjeti, a koji su većinom pravnog karaktera. Prilikom organiziranja turističkog proizvoda, tj. aranžmana mora se paziti na veliki broj čimbenika kao što su karakteristike, želje i stavovi ciljane potražnje. Jedan od zahtjevnijih zadataka prilikom formiranja turističkog aranžmana je formiranje njegove cijene. Ona mora u isto vrijeme zadovoljavati potrebe putnika i potrebe menadžera turističke agencije. Na agencijsko poslovanje u današnje vrijeme veliki utjecaj ima informacijska tehnologija. Svojim razvojem unijela je velike promjene u poslovni svijet većine poslovnih subjekata pa tako i turističkih agencija.
Abstract (english) The development of travel agencies has not taken place with equal intensity throughout the world. Some countries later welcomed the emergence and development of travel agencies than others, but currently almost all countries have developed networks of travel agencies. Not all agencies do the same job, but most of them operate on the same principle. The business of agencies is reduced to several important factors, and one of the most important is human resources. Without human resources, a travel agency, like most businesses companies, would not be able to operate. They are the ones who come into direct contact with clients, so they must be well trained for the job. Prior to the establishment of a travel agency, certain preconditions must be met, which are mostly of a legal nature. When organizing a tourist product, ie. tour package, one must pay attention to a large number of factors, such as characteristics, desires and attitudes of targeted demand. One of the more demanding tasks when forming a tour package is forming its price. It must meet the needs of travelers and the needs of travel agency managers at the same time. Nowadays, information technology has a great influence on agency business. With its development, it has introduced great changes in the business world of most business entities, including travel agencies.
