Abstract (english) This thesis deals with the written form of Croatian and German interviews with presidents. The main goal of the final paper is to determine which discourse-analytical features appear in both interviews. The two chosen interviews are analyzed based on their pattern of topic development, perspective, nomination and predication, modality, evaluation, argumentation and cohesion. The analysis showed that the two interviews are very similar. In both interviews, argumentative pattern of topic development occurs most frequently. There are also numerous generic references and social categories, as well as a frequent use of modal verbs and assertive speech acts. The discussed subjects are evaluated by the use of adjectives. In both cases, the arguments are supported by referring to authority and values, and through the use of subordinate argumentative clauses. The two interview texts are mostly made cohesive through the use of references and conjunctions. Some differences lie in the perspective, i.e., the Croatian politician focuses on the I-form, and the German on the We-form. Compared to the Croatian interview, the German interview lacks rhetorical figures as a medium of evaluation.
