Abstract (english) This thesis gives theoretical background of all aspects of socialization, how strong is the environmental influence and what affects it. The child's primary community, the family, plays an important role in healthy socio-emotional development, followed by the child's peers, preschool teacher and other participants in the upbringing of preschool children. In preschool, a child's primary activity is to play. Through play, children express their inner world and it allows them to meet the needs for socializing. In modern times, we are witnesses to more and more influence of various technologies and media that are pointed to our children. Information is at our fingertips, but the social aspect is increasingly diminishing with greater consumption of that information. The pandemic brought some changes in the organization of preschool institutions, as well as the socialization of children. In order to discover what issues we encounter in the socialization of children and how much impact the Covida-19 pandemic had on social relations, interactions and the social aspect, we asked preschool teachers, professional associates and principals throughout Croatia. We looked at the frequency of some behaviors, in terms of verbal and nonverbal communication between children, between adult participants in preschools, and also child’s interaction with adults. Most respondents agree that the pandemic has affected some of aspect of children’s socialization, from children’s play to communication skills and development in general. Apart from the current situation, the respondents mentioned the social aspect and the development of communication as something that ought to be encouraged more in the future. It follows from all this that the Covida-19 pandemic affected the socialization of children, but not to a great extent, while the way of working in the educational institution changed more.
