Abstract Federico Fiori Barocci (1535.
Abstract (english) Federico Fiori Barocci (1535. - 1612.) was a painter born in Urbino, active in the second half of the 16th and the first half of the 17th century. He mostly worked in his hometown and nearby towns, where he was also educated. In his formative period, Barocci went to Rome (first time in 1550., and second time in 1560.). There he had the opportunity to become more familiar with the paintings of Raphael, Michelangelo, Titian and Correggio. Contacts with cinquecento paintings played a key role in terms of the transmission and influence of its stylistic features in Federico Barocci's painting oeuvre, therefore the cycle of works created during his stay in Rome (and immediately after) shows reliance on the solutions brought by mentioned painters, especially Raphael and Correggio. Although the fascination with the masters of the cinquecento remained permanent in Barocci's style. In the works he created after 1565, the adoption of the post-Tridentine canons is more noticeable. With his painting and technical innovations, Barocci moved away from the late Renaissance and Mannerist style. The key elements of his works are color, light, and figure, and what generally makes his style recognizable is the note of emotional spirituality and sentimental warmth, as well as beautiful and sweet sacred scenes which are enriched with details from everyday life. In addition to Barocci’s painting, a drawing and graphic work has also been preserved. Therefore, his paintings, sketches, studies, drawings and etchings significantly influenced the development of Italian and Flemish Counter-Reformation painting, graphics and sculpture. The main goal of this paper is to explain and define the influences in Federico Barocci's paintings, to present the painter in the context of post- Tridentine period, and to elaborate on the stylistic and technical innovations that he brought in this regard.
