Abstract (croatian) Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je ispitati koriste li (i koliko često) nastavnici francuskog jezika u Hrvatskoj suvremene nastavne postupke (SNP) preporučene kurikulumom Škola za život.
Abstract (english) The purpose of this Master thesis is to explore if (and how often) French language teachers in Croatia use contemporary methodological practices (CMP) suggested by the curriculum School for life. Moreover, we examined their opinions about those practices, which methodological practices (MP) they personally prefer and which factors influence their choice of aforementioned practices. A survey questionnaire created for the purposes of this thesis was used to collect the data. Seventeen female primary and high school teachers (n = 17) filled out the questionnaire. A qualitative and quantitative analysis of collected data has shown that participants, on estimate, use CMP frequently. In addition, the participants have shown a relatively high degree of understanding of the CMP’s benefits and express predominantly positive opinions about them. Furthermore, they express that they prefer just the CMP, and point out that the factors that influence their choices are: pupil’s interests, educational objectives for every lesson and funds available in school or class. Those results could indicate increasingly frequent use of MPs oriented towards the needs and interests of students in teaching of the French language, which could contribute to a greater interest and motivation of students in learning that language.
