Abstract Este trabajo fin de máster se enfoca en el análisis de tres novelas de Benito Pérez Galdós - La fontana de oro, El amigo Manso y El doctor Centeno, desde una perspectiva pedagógica. El objetivo de este análisis es identificar y explorar la crítica de la educación presente en estas obras, considerando el contexto sociocultural de la España del siglo XIX, el período en el que Galdós vivió. Cada una de estas novelas ofrece una visión distinta sobre aspectos diferentes de la educación del siglo XIX y su impacto en la sociedad. La fontana de oro se destaca por su tratamiento del conflicto entre los valores tradicionales y las ideas del progresismo. El amigo Manso aborda el tema del krausismo y explora su posible impacto en la práctica educativa. Además, se centra en el papel del maestro en el desarrollo del estudiante. El doctor Centeno explora diferentes métodos de enseñanza y su impacto en los estudiantes, así como la función de la educación en la sociedad. El análisis de estas novelas se centra en cómo Galdós utiliza sus obras literarias para cuestionar las prácticas educativas establecidas y los conocimientos nuevos que surgieron durante la época. Además de expresar sus críticas, Galdós también propone sus propias ideas para mejorar la sociedad a través de la educación. Es decir, su obra literatura no solo cuestiona el estado actual de la educación, sino que también ofrece propuestas para su transformación.
Abstract (croatian) Ovaj diplomski rad analizira tri romana Benita Péreza Galdósa - La fontana de oro, El amigo Manso y El doctor Centeno, iz pedagoške perspektive. Cilj ove analize je identificirati i istražiti kritiku upućenu odgoju i obrazovanju, prisutnu u ovim djelima, pritom je smještajući u kontekst španjolskog društva 19.st., perioda u kojem je Galdós živio. Svaki od ovih romana pruža uvid u različite aspekte odgoja i obrazovanja u 19.st. te njegovom utjecaju na društvo. La fontana de oro se ističe po tome što uključuje temu sukoba tradicionalnih vrijednosti i progresivnih ideja. El amigo Manso obrađuje temu krausizma i istražuje njegov potencijalni utjecaj na nastavnu praksu. Štoviše, usredotočen je na ulogu nastavnika u učenikovom razvoju. El doctor Centeno istražuje različite nastavne metode i njihov utjecaj na učenike, kao i ulogu obrazovanja u društvu. Analiza ovih romana se usredotočuje se na to kako Galdós koristi svoja književna djela za ispitivanje ustanovljene nastavne prakse i novih saznanja, koja su se pojavila tijekom epohe. Osim što upućuje kritiku, Galdós također predlaže vlastite ideje za unaprjeđenje društva putem odgoja i obrazovanja. Dakle, njegova djela ne dovode samo u pitanje trenutno stanje odgoja i obrazovanja, već nudi i prijedloge za njihovu transformaciju.
Abstract (english) This master’s thesis focuses on the analysis of three novels by Benito Pérez Galdós - La fontana de oro, El amigo Manso y El doctor Centeno, from a pedagogical perspective. The aim of this analysis is to identify and explore the critique of education present in these novels, considering the context of 19th century Spain, the period in which Galdós lived. Each of these novels offers a distinct view on different aspects of 19th-century education and its impact on society. La fontana de oro stands out for its treatment of the conflict between traditional values and progressive ideas. El amigo Manso addresses the theme of Krausism and explores its potential impact on education practice. Additionally, it focuses on the role of the teacher in student development. El doctor Centeno examines various teaching methods and their impact on students, as well as the role of education in society. The analysis of these novels focuses on how Galdós uses his literary works to question established educational practices and new knowledge that emerged during the period. Besides expressing his critiques, Galdós also proposes his own ideas for improving society through education. In other words, his literary work not only questions the current state of education but also offers proposals for its transformation.
