The aim of this research was to analyze the causes, diagnosis, treatment and recovery process of dogs and cats with avulsion of plexus brachialis by reviewing the archived data. The research included 13 patients (6 cats and 7 dogs) with an average age of 3 years and 2 weeks (± 3 years and 12 weeks) admitted to the clinics of the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Zagreb in the period from 01.01.2017 to 01.06.2022. The anamnestic data of the patients indicate that most of them experienced some form of trauma (fall, hit by a car, etc.). The clinical examination revealed physical changes, weakness, pain and non-physiological movements of the injured forelimb. After diagnosis, 10 patients started physical therapy. Partial recovery was recorded in three patients, while three patients fully recovered. By analyzing the data, it was determined that the recovery process depends on the degree of nerve damage, the duration of the symptoms until the clinical examination, and the owner's participation in the rehabilitation. The average duration of rehabilitation was 6 weeks and 2 days (± 3 weeks and 1 day). Amputation was recommended for four patients. The decision on the surgical approach will be made based on the neurological status and progress during physical therapy. The positive effect of physical therapy in the recovery from avulsion of the brachial nerve plexus was seen in 75% (6/8) of patients.
