Abstract
Pravilna briga tijekom gravidnosti uz normalno odvijanje spolnih ciklusa preduvjet je za normalan porod. Otežan porod predstavlja prijetnju životu majke i mladunčadi, stoga se distociji pristupa oprezno s ciljem njihova očuvanja. Više je uzroka distocije opisano u ovom radu, njihovo dijagnosticiranje i terapiranje. Unatoč brojnim metodama koje se koriste u terapiji, najčešće se primjenjuje provedba hitnog carskog reza. Gubici mačića dijele se u perineonatalne i neonatalne čiji su uzroci brojni. Neonatalni se period smatra najosjetljivijim periodom svakoga života u kojem mladunčad prolazi kroz brojne prilagodbe koje mu omogućuju život u vanjskoj sredini.
Abstract (english)
Proper care during pregnancy alongside the normal progression of reproductive cycles is a prerequisite for a normal birth. Difficult birth poses a threat to the life of both the mother and the offspring; therefore, dystocia is approached cautiously with the aim of preserving both. The causes of dystocia are described in detail in this study, as well as their diagnosis and treatment. Despite numerous methods used in therapy, emergency cesarean section is most commonly used. Losses of kittens are divided into perinatal and neonatal, with numerous causes. The neonatal period is considered the most sensitive period of life, during which newborns undergo numerous adjustments that enable them to live in the external environment.
