The necessity for differentiation in the hotel industry and the need for responsible behavior towards the environment has led to the intensive development of hotels that are oriented towards sustainable development, creating new demands on the market. Green practices are increasingly being practiced in hotels, which has started a competitive competition in the implementation of green technologies. Differentiation seeks to emphasize the uniqueness of the market, but also to influence consumers so that they can further promote sustainability and transfer knowledge to others. Therefore, this thesis is approached analytically using different forms of green practices and their implementation. This thesis focuses on the problem of insufficient implementation of green practices, with an emphasis on the Westin Zagreb Hotel. The subject of research is strategies, finding and proposing appropriate green technologies that can serve the hotel for implementation. For the purpose of research, an in-depth interview was conducted with relevant interlocutors involved in the management of the hotel and destination. The results of the research indicated that practicing sustainable practices is extremely important because people are increasingly focusing on sustainability and choosing such hotels. The implementation of green technologies achieves market differentiation and creates increased demand for such a product. Green practices in hotels also affect the improvement of the destination's image and recognizability. After the research, analysis of results and conclusion, a proposal was made for the implementation of innovative elements of green practice for the selected case study, the Westin Zagreb Hotel.
