Lumbar pain syndrome is pain that occurs in the region of the low back, which can be transmitted to the lower extremity. The most common causes are degenerative changes of the intervertebral disc and intervertebral joint, as well as narrowing of the intervertebral canal. The pain is caused by degeneration of the disc at L4-L5 and L5-S1. The clinical picture shows increased muscle tone and limited mobility of the lumbosacral spine, where antalgic posture appears. More than half of the total population experiences low back pain. In the physiotherapy assessment, the patient's general condition is determined, the nature and localization of the pain is determined through the anamnesis, and the patient's condition is determined through the clinical examination, such as anatomical symmetry, gait, posture, manual muscle test. Regarding physiotherapy procedures, electrotherapy, ultrasound magnet and physiotherapy exercises are used in order to reduce pain and improve the range of motion. Patients are recommended to engage in recreational activities such as walking and running, and to sit on a firm chair to reduce pressure on the spine. When resting, it is recommended to lie with the legs bent at the hips and knees. The aim of this paper is to investigate which exercises are most effective in reducing pain and disability, and which improve the quality of life.
