Abstract
Radna terapija je zdravstvena djelatnost koja ima značajnu ulogu u raznim granama medicine. Ona se smatra dijelom programa liječenja koji uključuje sve aspekte liječničkog okruženja, ali je uporaba aktivnosti ta koja je presudna i daje dodatnu dimenziju terapeutskom, ali i klijentovom iskustvu. Pristupi u radnoj terapiji orijentirani su na rješavanje problema klijenta gdje se nastoji učiniti ga funkcionalnim kako bi kroz svoje radne uloge mogao zadovoljiti svoje osnovne potrebe, a time poboljšati kvalitetu svakodnevnog života. Radna terapija je sredstvo pomoću kojega klijent komunicira s drugima, stiče jasnije shvaćanje svojih iskustava, uči izraziti svoje osjećaje i misli te upoznati vlastite potencijale. Važnu ulogu radna terapija ima kod psihičkih bolesnika u procesu rehabilitacije. Kroz radnu terapiju nastoje se smanjiti simptomi psihičkih poremećaja, a povećati samostalnost i samosvijest klijenta u obavljanju svakodnevnih aktivnosti, te prihvaćanje samoga sebe kao dio zajednice.
Abstract (english)
Occupational therapy is a health activity which has a significant role in many fields of medicine. It is considered as a part of treatment which includes every aspect of medical surroundings, although the use of the activity itself is crucial in both patients and therapist experience and give a new dimension to a whole process. Approaches in occupational therapy are issue oriented and aim on patients functional abilities that should make him able to satisfy his basic needs trough his everyday roles and as a result enhance the quality of his everyday life. Occupational therapy is a tool trough witch the client communicates with others, makes clearer perception of his experiences, learns how to express his emotions and thoughts as well as getting to know his own potential. The important role of occupational therapy is in its work with mental patients as a part of their rehabilitation process. The idea is to decrease symptoms of mental disorders, enhance their independence in everyday activities and give them a chance to accept themselves as part of the community.
