This thesis aims to show main principles of operation, construction as well as basic elements of the NCB protection system using the GO-27 kit as fitted out on M-84 series of tanks. The emphasis will be put on the description of operation of the NCB protection systems as a whole, as well as the procedures concerning the decontamination of a combat vehicle. The thesis itself is split into two distinct parts; the first part elaborating NCB protection system utilizing the DRKT system, with the second focusing on the GO-27 fitting. This is followed with a complete tank decontamination procedure. The thesis is concluded with a suggested improvement for the M84's NCB protection systems. All parts of the system are listed and explained in detail, while the computer generated 3D model is also provided using SolidWorks software. NCB protection systems using the DRKT device and GO-27 fitting are identical location-wise in the vehicle's hull, the only difference being the device or the fitting itself. This approach makes it easier for future cadets and Basic Officer Course candidates to understand and grasp the basic principles of operation of the M84 and T-72s NCB protection systems. This thesis is also eligible for use in training enlisted personnel in active units.
